Mark Lomas has been appointed as the director of European operation at International Marine and Engineering Consultancy Aqualis Offshore.
Mark Lomas has been playing the role of a director for many years now. He was in the Middle East with London Offshore Consultants Limited (LOC) for fifteen years before relocating to the UK. During the period he stayed in the Middle East, he held the role of director of the Middle East and India. Mark later relocated to LOC UK to serve as the director of shipping before joining Aqualis Offshore.
Mark Lomas’ seagoing career was mainly with P&O, and he was privileged to work on several vessels types ranging from tankers, general cargo, heavy lift vessels, cruise ships and freight ferries. Mark also spent some quality time on land working within the insurance industry and with Kelvin Hughes.
David Wells, CEO of Aqualis Offshore, which is part of Oslo-listed energy consultancy group Aqualis ASA expressed his confidence in Mark by describing him as a master mariner with specialist competence in marine casualties which includes wreck removal operations and high profile salvage. David Wells stated that Mark’s sixteen years experience in marine claims including collision investigations, H&M instructions, cargo claims, total losses and pollution incidents would be beneficial to the company. While describing Lomas’ competence, David says ” Mark is well equipped and a trusted adviser for both asset owners and underwriters; and we are happy to have him as the head of our European operation.”
Aqualis Offshore being a specialized marine and offshore engineering consultancy has its major focus on both the shallow and deep-water offshore segments of the oil and gas sector in addition to the maritime and shipping industries.
